Chiropractic Care
Want to get to the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms?
Chiropractic care may be the answer for you!

What is Chiropractic care?
- An approach to health that utilizes the body's inherent and natural recuperative powers.
- A healing science that
places emphasis on maintaining the structural integrity of the body by
restoring joint motion and allowing the nervous system to function at
it's optimum.
- A method of health care that is conservative and does not utilize drugs or surgery.
- Chiropractic treatment is the
mobilization of the human body's joints, which allows for decreased
nerve interference, enhanced muscle function and increased range of
motion, joint lubrication and pain reduction. The Hetrick Center team
strengthens and stabilizes the soft tissues around the affected joints
to increase stability. This combination has allowed us to have great
success in alleviating acute and chronic neuromusculoskeletal
conditions, as well as decreasing future, repeat flare-ups.
Why is Chiropractic care important?
To achieve your Optimal Level of Function:
When under the proper control of your nervous system, all of the cells,
tissues, and organs of a person's body are designed to resist disease
and ill health.
What keeps you from functioning at your optimal level?
Interferences - In order for your system to remain healthy your nervous
system must be functioning correctly. The 24 moving bones of the spinal
column serve as protection to the nervous system's spinal cord and
exiting spinal nerves. A loss of normal motion or position of these
bones can irritate or impair the function of the nervous system. In
other words, if your bones are not correctly moving, your nervous
system will be compromised.
How do chiropractors fit in?
With improved spinal function, there may be improved nervous system
function. Our chiropractors can help remove interferences that may be
impairing your nervous system. By removing the interferences, you will
be put on a path to better overall health. The chiropractic approach is
to locate and remove interferences to a human being's natural state of
being healthy.

What can you expect during a Chiropractic visit at The Hetrick Center?
Our patients should
expect their initial visit with the chiropractor to be approximately
one hour so that the chiropractor can perform a thorough history and
exam. If x-rays are medically necessary, they may be taken. The Hetrick
Center's chiropractors will also take time to decide which chiropractic
adjusting technique is most appropriate for you. There are many
chiropractic techniques that the chiropractor may use to make you the
most comfortable. Our patients typically receive positive results from
the chiropractic adjustments, offering them pain relief, and overall
improved quality of life.
We DO NOT use family plans or life-time
plans in order to treat our patients. Instead, we treat each patient as
an individual. Depending upon the severity of your injury or complaint,
follow-up visits will be scheduled anywhere from one day to six months
later, or you may simply call us the next time you are in need of an
appointment. Follow-up visits are usually 20 minutes. We believe in
using multiple disciplines in order to best treat our patients. We
offer Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy, Clinical Nutrition, Aquatic
Therapy and more, to be used in conjunction with Chiropractic care.
